Residency in Australia

Over December and January 2022 we spent two months in residency at the National Theatre of Parramatta, in partnership with Sydney Festival, developing the first draft production of our new piece of work Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World and additionally spent some time presenting the first ever digital/live hybrid version of Rich Kids: A History of Shopping Malls in Tehran.

We were incredibly lucky to be able to put together an amazing team of diverse artists from England and Australia who accompanied us on the first draft of Things Hidden Since the Foundation of the World. We spent three weeks in a rehearsal studio and presented the first iteration in front of a vibrant, diverse audience filled with many people from Iranian and Middle Eastern heritage who represent the community in Parramatta, west Sydney where the show was made.

Rich Kids: A History of Shopping Malls in Tehran also had a highly successful run at the Sydney Festival. This was our first time showcasing the project in its hybrid form/with a cinema screen for the audience to watch the digital version together. We had to move Rich Kids into a bigger space after the original show sold out.
